I’m Feiyu Quan (全飞宇), a PhD student in astrophysics in the Star Formation Group at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Previously, I studied astrophysics at the University of Toronto and the University of Cambridge.

This work discusses the significance of projection effects in interpreting polarization observations and the complex magnetic-field morphologies of slightly super-Alfvénic dense cores within sub-Alfvénic molecular clouds.

In these visualizations, red field lines pass through dense regions with $n_{\mathrm{H}2} > 5 \times 10^4\ \mathrm{cm}^{-3}$, while blue field lines pass through diffuse gas with $n{\mathrm{H}_2} < 1 \times 10^4\ \mathrm{cm}^{-3}$. The grayscale background represents volume density.
Ongoing work on compensated turbulence spectra and multiscale zoom-in simulations of molecular clouds and disks.
